Yes. A quality urethane PPF, properly installed, is made for strong sun and heat: Pure PPF, the film we install, uses an anti-yellowing urethane and carries a 12-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking and bubbling on clear and matte film. What shortens PPF’s life in Florida is usually poor prep, exposed edges, harsh washing or contaminants left to bake on, not the climate itself.

What makes PPF last here.
- Prep. Paint is decontaminated and corrected before film goes on.
- Edges. Every edge is fully wrapped and tucked, with no pre-cut seams. Very complex panels have film limitations and may need a relief cut or seam. Wrapped edges are less likely to lift or collect dirt.
- Washing. Gentle hand washing; keep pressure washers away from film edges.
- Prompt cleanup. Love bugs, bird droppings and sap washed off soon, not left to bake.
- Compatible products. Pure PPF’s warranty excludes damage from coatings or sealants it hasn’t approved, so ask before adding one.
What PPF won’t do
It isn’t armor. A big enough impact can cut through film, and it doesn’t fix chips that are already in the paint. The upside: damaged film can be replaced on that panel without repainting.

Does heat damage PPF?
Normal Florida heat doesn’t. Warmth actually helps: light scratches in the topcoat heal with heat from the sun or warm water.
Will love bugs damage PPF?
Their remains are acidic and can mark any surface if left to bake. On PPF, the film takes it instead of your clear coat, but wash them off promptly.
Can I pressure wash a car with PPF?
Wash gently and keep a pressure washer well away from film edges. We give you care instructions for your car at pick-up.
Is PPF covered if it fails?
Pure PPF’s warranty covers yellowing, cracking and bubbling for 12 years on clear and matte film (10 years on colored film). It excludes things like damage from coatings or sealants Pure hasn’t approved, and film on repainted surfaces or headlights.
