How long does PPF last in Florida?
The warranty years, what they cover, and the care habits that decide how long your film looks right.
- 5.0 ★ Google
- 3M Lifetime tint warranty
- Pure PPF 12-yr warranty
The short answer
Many years, with a 10–12-year warranty.
Pure PPF, the film we install, carries a manufacturer warranty of 12 years on clear (Crystal) and matte (Frost) film and 10 years on colored film, against defects such as bubbling, cracking, delamination and discoloration. In Florida, how long the film actually looks its best comes down to installation, washing habits and what the car is exposed to, not the climate alone.
| Pure PPF film | Finish | Manufacturer warranty | At our studio |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crystal | Clear gloss | 12 years | Full Front from $2,400; Full Body from $6,000 (coupe) |
| Frost | Satin-matte | 12 years | Full Body only, from $6,000 (coupe) |
| Colored film | Color change | 10 years | Quoted on request |
Warranty terms are set by Pure PPF and can change; see Pure PPF’s warranty page. Coverage requires installation by an authorized Pure PPF installer; we are one.
What the warranty covers, and what it doesn’t.
- Covered: manufacturing defects in the film, such as bubbling, cracking, delamination and discoloration.
- Not covered: normal wear and tear, road debris and rock chips that cut through the film, misuse, acts of nature, and damage from poor maintenance.
- Surfaces: factory clear coat only. Repainted panels, carbon fiber, chrome, headlights and taillights are excluded.
- Products: problems caused by ceramic coatings, sealants or chemicals Pure hasn’t approved aren’t covered, so ask us before adding a coating over film.
What makes film last in Florida.
- Hand-wash in the shade with a pH-neutral shampoo. Pure’s guidance is to wash regularly, roughly every two weeks.
- No drive-through car washes, and no buffing or polishing the film.
- Don’t let things bake on. Love bugs, bird droppings and sap are easier to remove when they’re fresh.
- Keep pressure washers away from film edges.
- Installation matters. Every edge is fully wrapped and tucked, with no pre-cut seams. Very complex body panels have film limitations and may need a relief cut or seam.
