Install Times & Aftercare
How long do tint, PPF and ceramic take? Plus aftercare.
How long your car will be with us for each service, and what to do (and avoid) in the first days after.

The short answer
One day to about a week.
At Gulf Coast Auto Studio, most window tint installs are done in one day. Full Front PPF typically takes 1–3 days and Full Body PPF 3–5 days. Ceramic coating time depends on how much paint correction the car needs, and Gtechniq requires the car to stay indoors for 12 hours after application, so it’s a drop-off. Combining services usually means one longer drop-off instead of several visits.
| Service | How long at our studio | After you pick up |
|---|---|---|
| 3M ceramic window tint | Most installs in one day | Keep windows up as instructed; slight haze or water pockets while the film cures are normal |
| Full Front PPF | Typically 1–3 days | Follow the first-wash timing we give you; then hand-wash with pH-neutral shampoo |
| Full Body PPF (clear or satin) | Typically 3–5 days | Same as Full Front; no drive-through car washes |
| 5-year ceramic coating | Confirmed once we see the paint; car stays indoors 12 hours after application (Gtechniq) | Wait the full 12 hours before any other product goes on (Gtechniq); we give you care instructions |
Times are typical for our studio, not guarantees. Vehicle size, condition and the amount of disassembly can change them, and we confirm timing when you book.
Window tint aftercare.
- Keep the windows up for as long as we tell you at pick-up, so the film can cure.
- Expect some haze or small water pockets at first. That’s normal while moisture dissipates; our terms describe it as typically resolving within 7–30 days.
- Clean gently once it has cured: a soft microfiber cloth, no abrasive pads.
- Rear defroster lines can show slight distortion; that’s a normal characteristic of film over defrost lines.
PPF aftercare.
- Small bubbles while curing can be normal and typically resolve within a few days (our terms say 2–5).
- Hand-wash in the shade with a pH-neutral shampoo, about every two weeks per Pure PPF’s guidance.
- No drive-through car washes, and no buffing or polishing the film.
- Keep pressure washers away from edges, and wash off love bugs and bird droppings promptly.
- Ask before adding a coating over film: Pure’s warranty excludes problems caused by products it hasn’t approved.
Ceramic coating aftercare.
- 12 hours indoors after application, per Gtechniq, and no other products on the paint until then.
- Wash regularly. A coating makes washing easier; it doesn’t make it optional.
- Rinse off sprinkler overspray, salt and love bugs before they bake on.
- We give you first-wash timing and care instructions when you pick up.

FAQ
Good questions.
How long does window tint take?
Most tint installs at our studio are done in one day.
How long does PPF take?
Full Front PPF typically takes 1–3 days and Full Body 3–5 days, because we remove badges, trim and lights where needed so edges can be wrapped and tucked.
How long does ceramic coating take?
It depends mostly on how much paint correction the car needs, so we confirm timing when we see the paint. Gtechniq’s instructions call for the car to stay indoors for 12 hours after application, so plan on a drop-off rather than a wait.
When can I roll my windows down after tinting?
Not straight away: the film needs time to cure. We’ll tell you how long to keep the windows up for your vehicle when you pick it up.
Is haze or small bubbles under new tint normal?
Yes, some haze or small water pockets are normal while new film cures, and they typically clear as the moisture dissipates. Our terms describe this as typically resolving within 7–30 days; let us know if anything hasn’t cleared.
When can I wash my car after PPF?
We give you first-wash timing and care instructions at pick-up. After that, hand-wash in the shade with a pH-neutral shampoo, and avoid drive-through car washes, as Pure PPF’s care guidance says.
